Our commitments
UN´s 17 sustainability goals form the basis for the group's sustainability profile. We have signed and stand behind the UNEPN FI's six Principles for Sustainable Banking.
Sustainability has been raised as a strategic area for Sparebanken Møre. This means that sustainability is an integral part of our business, and is given a special place in our strategy for 2020-2023.
By integrating sustainability into the bank's overall strategy, this forms the basis for our further work on sustainability, and it also helps to support employees and managers in their decisions. Sparebanken Møre will support sustainable development and long-term value creation.
The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has a partnership with the financial services sector called the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). The Principles for Responsible Banking were adopted by the UN in September 2019. The goal of the principles is to enable the banking industry to take a leadership role in achieving the SDGs and fulfilling the Paris Agreement. Sparebanken Møre signed up to the principles in October 2019.
Finance Norway has developed a roadmap for green competitiveness in the financial sector with a vision that the finance sector in 2030 is profitable and sustainable. The roadmap includes 6 principles for the financial sector and two principles for banks. Sparebanken Møre will integrate these principles in our strategy and operations.
